Why is my site returning a 503 status on the landing page?

By default, WordPress already returns 503 when updating plugins or WordPress core. Once you set a 503 service status, search engines like Google will know that you are actually dealing with this page.Google knows to check the page again later when this status code is returned. Simple Landing Pages set the retry time for Google to double check the site to 1 day.

Installation Notes

Download the plug-in zip file.

Go to WordPress Admin > Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin and upload the plugin zip file.
