1.9.0 (March 20, 2020):
- For news items entered via the admin UI, added support for the “span” tag so that parts of the text can be formatted differently via CSS if needed.The attributes supported by the “span” tag are: “id”, “class” and “style”.
- Added a new setting called “Random Order” to the “Other” meta box to be able to set news items to appear in a random order.This applies to manually entered news items as well as news items loaded from the feed.
- Added a new setting called “Center Alignment” to the “Other” meta box to be able to set news items to be center aligned. Available for effects other than Scroll.

- Added RTL support. A new setting is available in the ‘Other’ meta box on the code’s admin page, called ‘Orientation’, which can be set to either Left-to-Right (LTR) (default) or Right-to-Left (RTL).
- Move the JS source files from the “Sources/js” project folder to the “modern-news-ticker/public/js” plugin folder next to the minified version.
- Fixed news item height issue appearing in some themes.
- Other minor modifications.

1.6.0 (January 15, 2019):
- Due to the recent shutdown of the YQL service by Yahoo, the “YQL” loading process type for RSS feeds has been removed.
The “rss2json” load process is now the default load process for RSS feeds, and the “Self” load process also acts as a backup.
As a backwards compatibility, if the code’s load process is set to “YQL”, it automatically defaults to “rss2json”. - Fixed a bug that caused the ‘Post Labels’ setting of the ‘Feed’ meta box to display when it was not applicable.
